HEARTBREAK

BRANDING & ILLUSTRATION

This was my first ever freelance project that didn’t come from a family member. I was reached out by Tony Caicedo, the lead singer of a small New Jersey band, via social media.

He messaged me saying he was vcover art for HeartBreak’s up coming single, Slide Away, and EP Torn In Two. Being passionate about music myself, there was no hesitation on hopping onto this project.

To this day, HeartBreak is still a close client of mine. I illustrate and print stickers that they sell at their shows!

BEST PROTEIN

LOGO REDESIGN

This particular assignment involved being given a random U.S. company and redesigning their logo. I got Sterling Pacific Meat Company. I felt that the original logo had a good start but was missing a few things. After doing some sketches, I decided to do an emblem-like approach. I also darkened the blue so it appears to be more confident.

NEED TO READ

BRANDING & TYPOGRAPHY

When working for a corporation,
sticking to the brand identity is key.

I wanted to challenge myself with
this bookmark design and make
a typography based piece. After
creating a mood board for some
inspiration, I got to work. I further
created a personal obstacle of
limiting my color palette to see what I
was capable of while keeping proper
contrast throughout.

ALWAYS A SABER

LAYOUT & TYPOGRAPHY

Back in high school, I took every
art class that was available at my
school. This grew me close with my
art teacher. Because of this, I landed
a gig with the varsity girls basketball
coach where I design the senior
posters the players take home on
their last game.

This was a great project that got me
more familiar with Photoshop. I used
a lot of masking, layering, and using
blending modes to give the design
some character.

MMM MATCHA

BRANDING & PACKAGING

A part that I appreciated about
attending design school was learning
about how to design and assemble
packaging. The brand I created was
an affordable matcha company. It
was a unique and fun experience to
where I could create something that
was tangible and didn’t just stay on
the computer.

CUP OF JOE

LOGO REDESIGN

I never thought that I would enjoy logo design so much, and this was the very project that brought me to that.

We were assigned to redesign any local company, so I went with my favorite small coffee place, Coffee Break! I wanted to keep their current logos theme with a mug, but I wanted to give more confidence to it

UI DESIGN

Before I decided on design school, I
was orginally wanting to do website
design. I soon found out that there
was a little too much math connected
to UX for my liking. Though, UI
design luckily has no math!

For this project, we had to design
an apple app. Terrain is a plant
care app where you can track all of
your plant’s watering schedule and
current health as well as shop for
plants from other plant owners. I
loved making a simple yet impactful
color palette and making the icons for
the navigation menu.

GOOD SOUP

VECTOR ILLUSTRATION

I never though Illustrator could be used to create realism, and I was more than impressed to find out that it was more than possible! This was for sure one of those projects where I had to keep reminding myself “trust the process” since the production time was longer than most projects we have done in design class.

This project made me realize how the smallest of details in an object is what makes it realistic. Needless to say, the end result was more than worth the hours of work!
